- Nigel Kennedy performing "The Bridge" with 16 year old Palestinian virtuoso Mostafa Saad. We think this is an incredibly brave act for the church of St James' Piccadilly to carry out, in answering the Christian Kairos call to action , and we would urge you to please write to the Bishop of London, and the Rev'd Lucy Winkett to support them whilst they are being targeted for opposing the apartheid (separation) wall. You can find more details and a sample letter on our website here .
For any of you who attended the panel debate with Jeff Halper, there is a great article on Jeff being labelled an "extremist" here . In response we are calling for the BBC's 'Sunday' programme to invite Jeff Halper to speak for himself on the issue!
This anniversary marks the end of "Operation Cast Lead", the full-scale, highly disproportionate air and ground attack by Israeli forces on Gaza begun on Boxing Day, 26th December 2008. You can find further details through Palestine Solidarity Campaign's website .
- Jeff with the Israeli army.
We hope to be scheduling a varied programme of events throughout this forthcoming year, and working with our members from different regions throughout the UK to make an impact and really spread awareness of the cruel policy of house demolitions, and our work in resisting this. For context, from this revealing OCHA OPT report , you can see that during 2013 there was an average of 11 Palestinian structures demolished each week in Area C alone.
- Participants from the 2013 Rebuilding Camp gather in front of an exhibition they prepared.

PLEASE SUPPORT US!
Happy New Year from all at ICAHD UK! ------------------------------------------------------------
Read more… and what an eventful start it has been, too!
Bethlehem Unwrapped Festival was a huge success, with thousands of visitors over the fortnight viewing the 8 metre high replica of the separation barrier, and joining the celebratory events. We feel very privileged to have hosted a reference point stall in the main entrance, where 30 of our members volunteered to take shifts in offering resources, raising awareness and answering questions on the current situation in Israel / Palestine. You will find a wonderful summary collection including videos from Tipping Point here (http://tippingpointnorthsouth.org/2014/01/06/bethlehem-unwrapped-wall-comes-down-photos-videos/ ) .
Protest this Saturday | January 18th 2014, 12pm - 2pm
Join us at the Israeli Embassy in Kensington from 12pm - 2pm to protest against the continued siege of Gaza, that survives through humanitarian problems such as lethal sewage overflow situations, vast instances of trauma recorded in children, and a severe fuel crisis. To top it all off, the UN has estimated that life in Gaza will be untenable by 2020, as you can see from this report (http://issuu.com/unrwa/docs/gaza_in_2020/1?e=0) .
Presentation from Jeff Halper | Sunday January 26th, 7.30pm - 9pm
Exporting the Occupation: Israel and the Global Pacification Industry The Wesley Hotel (formerly MIC) 81-103 Euston Street NW1 2EZ Jeff will be presenting information and a challenging analysis of how Israel has secured a central place in global pacification processes used by various militaries, security agencies and police forces and how this links with gaining diplomatic support for unpopular policies against Palestinians under occupation and neutralising effective opposition. This event is open to all, and has been kindly organised by the Jewish Socialists' Group.
10th Anniversary of ICAHD UK | April 5th, 2014 9am - 5pm

ICAHD Rebuilding Camp | 3 - 18 August, 2014
Over the last 16 years ICAHD, with the help of many volunteers, have rebuilt 187 Palestinian homes. This powerful act of nonviolent resistance is a crucial element to the work that we do. Every year, a global gathering of participants join Israelis and Palestinians to rebuild a fully functional home amid a busy educational itinerary, including speakers, films and field trips.
