Matthew Duss is Executive Vice-President at the Center for International Policy. He was previously a visiting scholar in the American Statecraft Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Matt served as foreign policy advisor to Senator Bernie Sanders (2017-2022), was President of the Foundation for Middle East Peace (2014-2017), and a National Security and International Policy analyst at the Center for American Progress (2008-2014). Matt’s work has been published in, among others, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Foreign Affairs, The Nation, The American Prospect, and Foreign Policy.

Josh had previously spent over 11 years working as a Director in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, which is responsible for U.S. defense diplomacy, security assistance, and arms transfers. He previously worked on security reform in both Iraq and the West Bank, as well as in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Josh is a recipient of the 2023 Callaway Award for Civic Courage and 2024 MedGlobal Award for Courage.

Josh Ruebner is a Lecturer in Georgetown University's Program on Justice and Peace and a Faculty Fellow at Georgetown University's Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching & Service, 2026-2027. His PhD dissertation: "A Tragedy of Catastrophic Proportions: The United States and the Palestinian Nakba, 1947-1949". Josh is currently the Policy Director of the Institute for Middle East Understanding Policy Project, and has previously worked at Americans for Justice in Palestine Action, the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, and Congressional Research Service.
